Lake View & Star Locomotive
The Lake View and Star gold mine operated this small locomotive. The locomotive ran on a 24 inch gauge line between Hannan's Star Shaft and the Lake View Mill in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. It was built by Orenstein and Koppel in Germany in 1910. The line was converted todiesel operation in 1937 but the steam locomotives were retained on standby until 1949. The locomotive was subsequently used by Great Boulder Mines in 1952 but were out of service by 1962.
